MORE than 1000 Rabbitohs fans turned up at Erskineville Oval last Saturday June 23 for the SSFC BBQ.

Fan Day

In brilliant sunshine the fans watched the South Sydney players go through their final hit-out before their round 15 match against the Cronulla Sharks and collected thousands of autographs.

Rabbitohs co-owners Russell Crowe and Peter Holmes à Court were there as was Chief Executive Shane Richardson.

South Sydney Coach Jason Taylor spoke to the fans and thanked them for their support.

“When the fans get behind the players it can really give them a lift and help them win the game,” he said.

“It’s great to know you are behind us.”

Rabbitohs fans travelled far and wide to meet their heroes and to be part of the day.

Klee Plataniotis, his wife Katina and sons Terry and Connor travelled up from Shellharbour, south of Wollongong to be part of the day.

“It’s been a pretty good year so far and we just wanted to come up and show the players our support and to get some autographs,” Klee said.

“They’ve been really competitive in all the games we just have to keep on winning.”

South Sydney Rabbitohs Consumer Relations Group Manager John Richardson said the day was a big success.

“On behalf of the Club I want to thank all the fans who turned up and made it such a great day,” John said.
