Ava and Jed Byrnes proudly display the framed Rabbitohs photo Ava received last week. JoJo Newby. FROM one mad South Sydney Rabbitohs fan to another, it was a generous gift that made young Ava Byrnes's first day at school a memorable occasion. After reading an article about Ava and her devotion to the Bunnies on January 14, a local gentleman known only as Woody was seemingly touched by the little girl's love for one of the NRL's most sentimental teams. In a heartfelt display of generosity, Woody gifted Ava one of the most-prized possessions a die-hard Rabbitohs fan could long for - a framed and signed photo of five Rabbitohs players. Ava's favourite player, Roy Asotasi, was included in the frame. Declaring he didn't want recognition for his generosity, Woody presented the frame to Ava's teacher at Westlawn Public School, who dually presented it to a delighted Ava on Wednesday. However Ava and her family, all of whom are staunch Rabbitohs fans, were determined to express their gratitude. "I want to say thank you for this picture, it's excellent," said Ava. The frame now takes green and red pride of place on Ava's bedroom wall.
