A disgrace ... How is Nathan Merritt not in the NSW Origin team? Picture: Gregg Porteous Source: The Daily Telegraph
THE decision to once-again snub South Sydney try-scoring sensation Nathan Merritt from the NSW Origin side is a complete disgrace.
The Daily Telegraph Sports Editor-at-large Phil "Buzz" Rothfield is at a loss to explain how the NSW selectors got it so wrong in picking Penrith's Michael Gordon in front of the Rabbitohs flyer.
Merritt has scored 13 tries in 15 NRL games this season comared to Gordon's 7 tries from 14 appearances.
For this reason, "Buzz" is suggesting the NSW selectors follow the lead of the NRL referees and head straight to OPSM to get their eyes tested.
"I don't know what Nathan Merritt has got to do to get a start," Buzz said.
"It's definitely not a racial issue because the selectors aren't like that but they can't have been watching too many Souths game.

"Merritt's been blitzing it all season and to leave him out again is quite simply a dreadful decision.
"Sure Michael Gordon, who's been selected instead, can kick goals, but so can Michael Ennis. Merritt has run rings around Gordon for the past two years in club football."
