A DIG through Russell Crowe's family tree has unearthed that he comes from a line of fruit and vegetable wholesalers in the northeast Wales town of Wrexham.
His great grandfather Bill emigrated to Canada with 12 of his 13 children, while Rusty's grandfather John stayed behind to take over the business. The BBC reports he ended up moving to New Zealand and his progeny eventually moved to Australia. Meanwhile, Crowe is in Pittsburgh shooting his next film and made the day of a homeless celebrity spotter by giving him a down coat with fur hoodie after spotting him near the set. A nice change from those ubiquitous Rabbitohs jackets.
