One of the few good news stories for the NRL for 2009 will continue for two more years, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs confirming last night they will come back to Perth for games in 2010 and 2011.

After the Rabbitohs' experimental home game against Melbourne Storm in WA in June attracted more than 15,000 to Members Equity Stadium, stadium officials and the club revealed an agreement to play a home fixture each year for the next two seasons.

''We are delighted to be able to announce that we’ll be taking two home games to Perth over the next two seasons,'' South Sydney CEO Shane Richardson said.

''Our venture to Perth in 2009 was an unmitigated success.

''Over 15,000 people came to watch one of the most entertaining matches of the season, where they got to see six of the current State of Origin players plus seven New Zealand representatives play for their respective clubs.''

The NRL is also believed to support the move to shift one game per season to Perth, with the WA Rugby League pushing strongly to be part of the national competition, possibly as early as 2012.
