ABC News Posted South Sydney will not be stripped of any competition points despite briefly having 14 men on the field in Sunday's 23-22 NRL victory over Wests Tigers. The Rabbitohs could still be fined by the NRL for a minor breach of the rules after half-back Chris Sandow ran onto the field to collect a football he was using for a warm-up late in the game. Earlier in the season, Canterbury was stripped of two competition points after fielding 14 men during its win against Penrith. South Sydney perhaps should have sealed the result earlier with controversy surrounding Benji Marshall's successful sideline conversion in the 51st minute that gave the Tigers a 22-10 lead. Replays suggest the ball fell in front of the crossbar but the NRL have investigated the conversion attempt and decided it is inconclusive to say the touch judges got the decision wrong. In other news, the NRL issued Gold Coast with a $5,000 breach notice after Titans hooker Nathan Friend wore headgear featuring an advertising logo in the match against Brisbane. The Titans have five days to respond to the notice. -AAP
