ABC Online Craig Wing was the orchestrator of a second-half resurgence as the Rabbitohs came from behind to dispatch the Knights 22-12 in their round three NRL contest on Sunday afternoon. Wing, who played for the Rabbitohs' feeder club last week, returned to the premier grade off the bench and while he was quiet in the first half he made amends with two tries, including his side's first points. He crossed for his second at the 70-minute mark and Issac Luke grounded the ball under the posts just minutes later with the try that seemed to ice the game. But South Sydney let its guard down and the Knights made two very good breaks down the left wing, Junior Sau scoring on one and narrowly missing another. The Knights led 8-0 at the break but did not show the same attacking efficiency and vision in the second 40 minutes, allowing Wing and the Rabbitohs to make their move. Rabbitohs forward Luke Stuart said Wing was the catalyst for the comeback. "Wingy, he'll be my players' player," he told ABC Grandstand. "When he came back he really sparked us. It's great to have him back on board." He said coach Jason Taylor told the side to change its direction after half-time. "That first half, we didn't play how we wanted to," he said. "He just wanted us to go forward before we tried to go wide ... running sideways is just not our game." |
