 Happy 101st birthday to all of the Rabbitohs Members, Corporate Partners, players, coaches, staff, directors and owners for today January 17 2009.
As is explained in Ian Heads' book titled South Sydney - Pride of the League: "The culmination came on a sweltering night in early 1908. On the evening of January 17, after a day on which temperatures in western Sydney had soared close to 50 degrees, J. J. Giltinan, the get-up-and-go entrepreneur behind the beginning of Rugby League, the famous cricketer Victor Trumper and the notable politician Henry Clement Hoyle were on the podium at Redfern Town Hall when South Sydney Rugby League Club was formed."
