South Sydney have given coach Jason Taylor and forward David Fa'alogo official contract breach notices following last Sunday's altercation at a Sydney hotel.

The club on Thursday concluded an investigation into the incident which ended with Fa'alogo punching Taylor to the ground at Forresters Hotel in Surry Hills.

Souths confirmed in a statement that both had been handed breach notices, but did not outline potential penalties for the duo.

Taylor has been given until September 15 to respond to his notification, while departing forward Fa'alogo must front the club's board three days later on September 18.

"The result of that investigation is that head coach Jason Taylor has been served today with formal notification of breaches of his contract with the club and has been given until 5pm Tuesday, 15 September 2009 by which to respond to that notification," said the club in a statement.

"Additionally, player David Fa'alogo has been served today with a breach notice under his NRL playing contract requiring him to appear before the board on Friday, 18 September to show cause as to why action should not be taken against him by the club for breaches of his NRL playing contract and the club's code of conduct."
