There are only two rounds remaining and the National Rugby League top eight is still undecided with ten teams still alive for post-season action. While the Dragons, Bulldogs and Titans are assured of home finals, the teams ranked fourth through to tenth are still battling to secure their final placing in what is a closely fought out season 2009. A local derby kicks off round 25 with the Eels hosting Penrith in what should be a sell-out 20,000 plus crowd this Friday night. Parramatta will go in as favourites with an unchanged line-up and a six-game winning streak to boot, though the Panthers recall the last time they met which turned out to be a try-feast. Up north in Townsville, the Cowboys seek to raise awareness for the Melanoma Institute with a specially commissioned jersey for the game against the Broncos. Shannan Hegarty has been named on the wing with Ty Williams moving to fullback as cover for Matt Bowen, who will miss the remainder of the season through injury. Brisbane welcomes back Israel Folau to the starting line-up with Joel Clinton, Alex Glenn and Josh McGuire all named on an extended bench that will be finalised closer to the game. Anther star set to return to the field this weekend is Ashley Harrison, named in the Gold Coast team along with Kayne Lawton, Josh Graham and Chris Walker. Esi Tonga has been omitted for the clash with the Wests Tigers on Saturday evening with a shoulder injury. The Wests Tigers have been forced to make several changes to cover Bryce Gibbs (suspended), Beau Ryan and Taniela Tuiaki (both injured). Dean Collis and Rhys Hanbury join the backline, with Dene Halatau named on an extended bench. Melbourne Storm farewells Olympic Park, the home of eleven years, this Saturday night when they host the struggling Sydney Roosters. A star-studded line-up of performers are set to appear, while Wairangi Koopu replaces Jeff Lima in the squad named today. The Roosters have named Nick Kouparitsas in an extended 18-man squad for the trip to Melbourne. With the wooden spoon race on with Cronulla, an upset win could see the batten passed from one South-Eastern beachside suburb to the other. South Sydney may have missed the finals boat but are fairly confident of another good showing when they host St George-Illawarra on Saturday night. The Rabbitohs are unchanged, leaving the Dragons who have fallen in a hole and lost its last two matches to call in Neville Costigan, Jon Green and Jason Nightingale. Chase Stanley is the only omission at present. Manly is buoyed by the news that Brett Stewart is ready to resume after missing 12 weeks with a knee injury. Heath L’Estrange and Tony Williams are also back for the Sea Eagles in what is definitely a must-win game to stay ahead of the hungry pack chopping at their tail. Cronulla is unchanged as they look to finish off a horror season on a high note at Brookvale Oval on Sunday afternoon. A tribute match has been arranged for retiring leading point-scorer Hazem El Masri this Sunday when the Bulldogs play host to New Zealand Warriors. The Bulldogs have been bolstered with Ben Roberts and Ben Hannant poised to play, replacing Daniel Holdsworth and Brad Morrin. New Zealand will be without two veterans with captain Steven Price and games record holder Simon Mannering both ruled out. Ben Matulino and Russell Packer come into the side. Canberra plays host to the final Monday night football match in season 2009, against the Newcastle Knights. Both teams have named extended squads for the clash with Phil Graham back for the Raiders and Karawana for the Knights.
