SOUTHS have taken the unusual step of finding a new assistant coach next season by advertising on a recruitment website.

The Rabbitohs, looking to replace sacked Mark Ellison, have posted an ad on the Sportspeople recruitment agency site.

It is headed: "NRL Assistant Coach. South Sydney. Fulltime."

The advertisement refers to working with coach Jason Taylor, director of athletic performance Errol Alcott and forwards coach Gorden Tallis. It states:

"A rare opportunity exists within the coaching department of South Sydney Rabbitohs for a highly competent NRL assistant coach for the 2010 NRL season.

"The position reports to the South Sydney Rabbitohs head coach, Jason Taylor. The main responsibility will be the preparation of the Rabbitohs squad for the 2010 NRL season.

"The assist ant coach will also be working alongside the director of athletic performance, Errol Alcott, and forwards coach, Gorden Tallis.
