NRL glamour boy Craig Wing is in deep financial trouble after losing more than $1million in a failed offshore investment.
We can reveal the real story as to why the South Sydney star has considered walking out on the NRL to chase the huge money available in rugby union in Europe.
Wing has also not been paid a $100,000 third-party deal with McGrath Real Estate because he has been unable to keep his end of the deal, which requires him to work 38 hours a week for the company.
We're also told his former manager Steve Gillis is taking legal action against him for alleged breach of contract. We have made several attempts to contact Wing in recent days but he has failed to return our calls or text messages.
On top of his financial woes, we're led to believe the Rabbitohs utility player has a serious groin injury that may require surgery. Souths officials are putting a protective shield around Wing, refusing to comment on his financial situation, which is known to them.
The only comment from the club is that they expect him to fulfil his contract, which goes for another three seasons.
Wing has employed one of Sydney's biggest legal firms and has launched action against the overseas investment company in which he lost all the money.
