Fox Sports At Melbourne Storm we're all treated equally. So it doesn't matter if you're a rookie or the CEO, there is an intolerance to bad behaviour. If coaches step out of line, they face the same consequences as players or other staff would if they slipped up. It doesn't necessarily mean the sack, but you won't escape a penalty. Having said that, as we digest what's happened to Jason Taylor this week, we have to remember that no one is perfect and everyone will make mistakes in their lives. So everyone will be feeling for JT because he loved being the South Sydney coach. The Rabbitohs played some really good football this year and I know JT has done some wonderful things for the club. But it's an internal club decision, which everyone outside the club will have an opinion on. I agree it is a strong stand that Souths have taken. It is also a very clear message to anyone else who is going to be a part of South Sydney in the future. And as far as Mad Monday celebrations go, you can't have any hard and fast rules on who can take part and who can't. It should be up to each individual club to decide who goes. With Melbourne we like Craig (Bellamy) and all our other coaches and trainers to be part of it. We're all great friends together. In past seasons Craig and his staff have always come along, had a few beers and sat down to have a good time. They then usually go off and do their own thing. Let's move on to the knock-out semi-final between Brisbane Broncos and St George Illawarra. We have a particular interest in this one as we meet the winner next Saturday night. Channel Nine has been good enough to set up a room for us at its studio so we can watch it live. Normally the game would not be screened down here until midnight, which is a bit past our bedtime. Speaking to the boys this week, we have no idea who will win and we have no preference either. We just want to see them have a good hit-out and get really sore and bruised. The week off for us is a godsend. There are a lot of theories about the week off in the finals but we've learned over the years it's worked for us. The first couple of years we had it off but last year we took the exact same path the Dragons are now taking. We lost to the Warriors the first week, then had to travel to Brisbane and then play Cronulla before meeting Manly in the big one. You could just tell on grand final day that we were buggered. That long finals series exhausted us. We were indeed beaten by a better team on the night. But we just couldn't go with Manly that night and I think it was due to that long road to the final. I'll admit, at first glance, it will be weird to play an NRL preliminary final just a few hours after the AFL grand final. That's the biggest sporting ticket of the year across all football codes. But we're taking it as a positive. Their game is in the afternoon at the MCG so after all the presentations are over, it will only be another hour or two until our kick-off at Etihad Stadium. We hope to see a lot of AFL jerseys in the crowd. What a better weekend than knocking off two major football finals in the one trip? If I was flying from interstate it's a huge opportunity to see the best of both codes. We got 21,000 to our game against Manly so we're aiming for 40,000 against either the Broncos or Dragons.
